MOOD + DESIGN = FONDA

This next interview with this Queen, is very dear to my heart. I met Fonda at Juneteenth Celebration in downtown Atlanta in 2019 at Mercedes Benz Stadium when I purchased one of her designs. I love my jumpsuit! You would have thought we knew each other for years. We have not missed a beat! We have became Instant Sistas! Lets chat to see what she has been up too...

What career are you passionate about? Would that be designing clothes??? Lol Yes I enjoy redesigning the everyday women,men or children. Turning every day pieces into fashion statements. 

What things do you have going on with your fashion shows coming up? Currently all shows are on hold, I have been approached several times to attend events but had respectfully decline to Covid-19 virus. Just unsafe at this time.

What is one item you design and you know you did your thang? And who was it for?  I feel like my Cropped Camouflage Bomber Jacket! The response I got when I designed that piece let me know that I did my thang.  I created the bomber for an 2-day event I was attending and I sold out on the first day.

Any other projects coming up? Yes,can’t share just yet! But will keep everyone updated as soon as everything is approved 

When and why did you start designing clothes?  I’ve always had a passion for style. I never wanted to look exactly like everyone else.One day I wore my camouflage jacket out with friends to eat and the waitresses was demanding that I made them one as well.  I shared my information and the rest is history... Mood.By.Sloane was created.

One wish you have if you could change something in the world today? Racial injustices 

Tell us about your youth and growing up? What city? I grow up in a small suburban town, Rockland County, 30 minutes from New York City. Very diverse upbringing we played outside enjoyed family and friends 

If you could sing one song on American Idol, what would it be? I would sing “Deliver me” by LeAndria Johnson 

What is one thing on your bucket list? Travel to Egypt 

One thing you suffer with in life, but you have it under control? Delegation. I have a hard time trusting people with my responsibilities even when they ask to help..... as bad as I may need the help 

If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring? Endless supply of soup, Inspirational books and  "As I Am" hair products. 

If you were a box of cereal, what would you be and why? Frosted Flakes Cereal with Bananas

You are a new addition to the crayon box, what color would you be and why? Cocoa, to represent our beautiful skin

If there was a movie produced about your life, who would play you and why? My daughter,Saniah. She’s becoming more and more like me every day. She knows me and will represent me the best. 

What country would you like to live in? England 

What was the last gift you gave someone? One of my designs 

What are you listening to right now in your car? Old school R&B 

Favorite restaurant & food. That’s a toss up between Negril's Jamaican Cuisine and Philippe Chow
