How did you get started?

I started writing in the 7th grade. I wrote a play for my Drama class. After that I knew it was my calling. At first I wrote mainly for myself but soon discovered that others liked my work and encouraged me to share my gift. I published my first novel in 2008.

Where are you from….by way of?

I live in Las Vegas by way of New Jersey but my roots are in North Carolina

If you could sing one song on American Idol, what would it be?

If I could perform My American Idol song would be "Change the World" by Eric Clapton.

If you were on a island and could only bring three things, what would you bring?

Food, water, and the love of my life.

If you were a box of cereal, what would you be and why?

Cheerios because good goes around and it is heart healthy.

You are a new addition to he crayon box, what color would you be and why?

My crayon color would be Creamy Orange like Sweet Potato Pie. Because I finally perfected my grandmother's recipe.

If there was a movie produced about your life, who would play you and why?

Angela Basset could play me well. She is an amazing actor with range and depth. And she looks fierce with that short hair cut. 

What was the last gift you gave someone?

The last gift I gave was a Globe. It was given to my 7 year old granddaughter. She needs to know that the world is bigger than where she is now.

What are you listening to right now in your car?

I love Jazz and right now Darren Rahn's "Talk of the Town" is what I'm listening to in my car.

Favorite restaurant & food….

My favorite restaurant is Pasta Cucina and their Chicken Parmesan is my favorite dish. 

Yes I get writer's block often and my main audience is Black women but I aim to reach anyone who wants to read a good story.
