Wow! What can I say about this Queen …hmmmm …I met her at Mood Music In Little Five Points where she was set up as a vendor. She won Jaxon over with the Vegan Ice Cream! lol Then what warmed my heart was she said "Thank You" ….and I said forrrrrr? She said Jaxon was well mannered and he was such a young man. That meant a lot to me….It just means I am doing something right! Okay, so this interview is just a small bit of what she has going on…. I would like to introduce Dymetra Pernell AKA Plant Based Princess!

        How did you get started?   I got started literally by chance. I used to make my living in the kitchen, so when I went vegan I missed ice cream. It was something I would only make for family and friends. A friend asked me to meet her for lunch and to bring my vegan ice cream. When we arrived, the hostess asked what was in the bag, we replied, “vegan ice cream”. She was vegan, asked to taste, we obliged, she loved it and invited all the staff over to try it. It was only then that I decided it may be an endeavor worth pursuing. 

How did you come up with the name?

Great question. I thought about my heritage and understood that I came from kings and queens. That understood, PlantBased Princess seemed like the perfect moniker. 

Where are you from….by way of?

I’m from Los Angeles California, South Central, to be exact. I currently reside in Atlanta, GA.

If you could sing one song on American Idol, what would it be?

Wow, another great question. I suppose it would be “Fall in Love” by Erykah Badu or “A Song for You” by Donny Hathaway.

If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring?

A genie who could grant me three wishes, a lifetime supply of black beans, and something to cook them with.

If you were a box of cereal, what would you be and why?

Lucky Charms because I’m magically delicious in a spiritual kinda way.

You are a new addition to the crayon box, what color would you be and why?

Mood - the color would change from person to person depending on their energy and mood.

If there was a movie produced about your life, who would play you and why?

Oh my! Viola Davis because she beholds the essence of greatness. She inserts herself into each character as if it’s her last role ever.

What was the last gift you gave someone?

Advice. It’s all I ever really give because advise is giving of self. It’s the greatest gift, I believe.

What are you listening to right now in your car? An Afromentals Mixtape. 

Favorite restaurant & food. Barcelona Wine Bar in Inman Park. Great wine, great vegan choices, great atmosphere, and excellent service.
